When fire crews arrived, there were flames showing from the roof and the fire appeared to involve both floors and the attic.
Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack on both floors while a team on the roof conducted vertical ventilation to release heat and smoke.
During the search, crews heard hissing and discovered a propane tank on fire. They quickly extinguished it before it could cause further damage.
The home was red-tagged by the city due to safety concerns, meaning residents were not allowed to enter.
As is standard procedure for structure fires, electricity was turned off as soon as possible.
Seattle Fire and Bothell Fire responded to assist, and the Red Cross is providing assistance to those displaced.
No one was home. There were no reported injuries to firefighters. However the beloved family dog died in the fire.
The cause is under investigation by King County.
