LAKE FOREST PARK – All eastbound lanes of State Route 522 / Bothell Way at SR 104 / Ballinger Way were blocked after a collision early Friday afternoon, October 25, 2024.
It was expected to be an extended closure and people were advised to use alternate routes and plan for delays.
The incident response team, the State Patrol, and LFP Police were there.
The scene was cleared and lanes were reopened at 8:45pm.
I got to watch as the state highway patrol left and Lake Forest Park proceeded to set up road block like it was a military operation.
Was there fatality or a rescue attempt going on? Some sort of environmental hazard?
Considering that close the road for tens of thousands of people but only have jurisdiction over barely a mile, it certainly looked like a gross abuse of power.
I could certainly be wrong, if lives were in the balance than the couple hours watching lfppd hold up traffic was no big deal and I hope everyone was okay.
It was a smaller worker/utility type truck and an SUV, head on collision. I was in the traffic heading south. People were cleared by the time I passed, the SUV was pretty crushed. Both cars were in the east bound lanes. I can’t find any info about the crash other than this site, though.

Does anyone know what happened and if the people were okay?
