The week’s three-vehicle collision serves as a reminder to all that Shoreline BAT (Bus and Transit) lanes are, well, for buses.
Not a bus? Turn right at the next light (or intersection) or risk a ticket.

The driver of a 4Runner (not a bus) was driving southbound approaching the 16300 block of Aurora Ave. They continued straight in the BAT lane colliding with two cars. Injuries were minor but not the crash.
For safety’s sake … stay in your lane!
I see this every morning on my way to work. Usually young men in a hurry and they go around all the traffic in the carpool lane.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see some enforcement of this lane - many speeders in both directions bypassing traffic using these lanes to haul *ss to the college turnoff or jump ahead of traffic continuing north and south - too bad for me if i move to the right to turn without watching for the folks blazing north to get to Costco - who would get the ticket then? or would the police even arrive? I suspect not...
ReplyDeleteoh and I have mentioned before - we could raise lots of $ if we had cameras to enforce these "regulations/laws"(?") Since we have a shortage of police (not to mention will) we could probably all skip paying lots of taxes if scofflaws were caught - Concerned about privacy? Do you use Meta, Twitter, TikTok, smart phone? Duh.
ReplyDelete$$ for safety spending from speeding drivers, too. Not 2, 3, 4 miles over the speed limitr - 10, 15 over - not safe in residential areas!
