Alfy's Pizza building in Lynnwood burns in spectacular fire

Update: South County Fire says there is no word yet on a cause and the investigation is still ongoing.

The abandoned Alfy’s Pizza building caught fire around 1:30am Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 4820 196th St SW in Lynnwood.

Fire crews brought the blaze under control, but 196th St SW was closed in both directions between 50th Ave W and 48th Ave W.

Power poles were down but PUD was quickly on the scene to replace them so they were no longer a hazard.

    I am completely devastated by this news. The sacred place where my 13th b'day party was enjoyed by all just burned to the ground. But Brett will always show us his scar on his knee from the giant rock in the back parking lot. Innocence, love, & cold beer! Farewell my beloved Alfys!!!

    Cause of the fire? Probably homeless people trying to keep warm overnight... so sad.

    Surprised it took as long as it did to meet its demise. Another example of Lynnwood falling into shambles.
