Fire extricated the driver from the vehicle and transported to Harborview with unknown injuries.
Hwy 99 closed for three hours. Causing vehicle is upside down behind yellow car. |
Witnesses stated that the vehicle was upside down as it flew through the air and landed.
This happened before 11am on Friday, August 26, 2022 near the Business Costco in Lynnwood at 199th and Hwy 99. Hwy 99 was closed in both directions for three hours. Power was cut to a number of Snohomish County PUD customers and there were water disruptions because of the broken hydrant.
So sad - and to think how many innocent people could have been hurt or killed. I hope this child's parents are real proud. I wish we lived in a society with stricter laws. They should do jail time, lots of community service, have their license revoked for a couple years, etc. Consequences deter bad behavior. We, as a society, have removed most consequences for any type of crime. Ergo.....
ReplyDeleteNot parents fault The person who was driving is responsible Just glad he is alive
DeleteTotally agree
DeletePrevious posting wasn’t blaming parents, although they would be responsible if the driver was under 18. I agree that stricter laws for reckless driving are needed. There are no consequences for breaking laws anymore.
DeleteNot sure how responsible it is to go down 99 at 100mph.
DeleteI hope he is ok and learned from this. I also feel bad for his parents ♥️
ReplyDelete"I cant drive 55!!"
ReplyDeletelaws now a days holds really no responsible....blame goes everywhere....especially with our judicial system....joke...joke...joke..thank god now one was hurt really bad especially those innocent ones...
ReplyDeleteOf course the parents are partially to blame - the parents' job is to raise a child that knows right from wrong. If you don't start at birth, the child ends up like this driver. Probably has a bunch of teachers with similar stories about lack of awareness of others and acting out to get the attention his parents didn't give him.
ReplyDeleteHope they Took away his License. If not, this will happen again for sure…
ReplyDeleteHe does not have a license, under age.
DeleteThis reminds me of the tragic accident last November at the intersection of 185th and Lynden in Shoreline. A young man, driving under the influence at high speeds, slammed into a car mother of two young girls was killed. A couple of years ago a friend of mine was killed in Edmonds under similar circumstances: high speeds and a young driver under the influence. So tragic. So avoidable.
