A new state law effective October 1, 2020 makes it legal for bicyclists to roll through intersections, treating stop signs as yield signs.

Bicyclists can now treat a stop sign as a yield sign and roll through the intersection during light traffic, under a new Washington state law that took effect Thursday.

  1. Have our states lawmakers lost their collective minds!? I don't understand why this is a good idea.

  2. I remember my first driver's exam. 1978
Bicycles had to obey the same laws as motorists. Well 40+ years later and obviously a bicyclist has made it to some office high enough to make stupid decisions. Not that it makes any difference. When has anyone seen a police officer pull over a bicyclist for not stopping? Bicyclists rule the road, they are not required to follow any laws. Another waste of taxpayer money discussing or spending time on something that should have been looked at from the opposite view, called safety. 😠😠
