Shoreline Police will not arrest you if you are not wearing a mask

Shoreline Police will not be enforcing Governor Inslee’s mandatory face covering order.

Per the Washington State Patrol, the state-wide face covering order is a public health and safety measure.

It is not a mandate for law enforcement to detain, cite, or arrest violators, but rather an evidence-based and safety-focused directive meant to slow the spread of a potential deadly disease.

For more information on the face covering directive, see Governor Inslee's announcement.

  1. Is there a better way to educate people - elderly and 18 to 30 year old men are the most likely to not wear face covering or not wearing it over both mouth and nose. I told one 20-ish white male "QFC security guard" that I liked his necklace - because it was around his neck, not covering his face.
Elderly people wear masks so loose that they slip down, only covering the mouth, not the nose and mouth. Some elderly forget they have taken it off their face while standing in a non-6-foot-distant line.
I wear my mask from my car onword till I get back in my car. Given that I see neighbors on dog walks, I even wear it till I get back home. It would be so nice if everyone remembers that we wear a mask for ourselves AND our whole community.
