Where the beat hits the street
1. What is going on here?
- This is the 13th Annual North City Jazz Walk.
- Street closes at 6pm on 15th Ave NE between 175th and 180th.
- Jazz Bites start at 6pm and the music lasts from 6:30-10:30pm.
2. Where do I park?
Parking is free at the following locations:
- Loyal Automotive: 1211 NE 175th St
- North City Lumber 1221 NE 175th St
- Center for Human Services 17018 15th Ave NE
- Park ‘n Ride at Buddha Jewel Monastery 17418 8th Ave NE
- Safeway *after 7pm* 17202 15th Ave NE
- Saint Mark: 18033 15th Ave NE
- Street parking is also available: please do not block driveways.
3. Is this event free?
You may stroll the street, grab an inexpensive bite to eat and hear three free open to the public music venues OR purchase a bracelet and have access to seven additional indoor venues.
Bracelets are $20 until midnight August 12 and $25 day of event.
4. Where do I buy tickets, how much does it cost?
- Visit the website: www.northcityjazzwalk.org
- Several North City businesses: Golden Bow, North City Bistro,North City Water District, North City Lounge, Easy Monkey Taphouse and Bethel Lutheran Church in North City and Sky Nursery on Aurora will have tickets until Monday pm, for $20.
- Tuesday at 6pm there will be three ticket booths on the street.
- Tickets will be Available on the night of the event for $25 each.
- You may pay with Cash, check or a credit card.
5. What if I have a receipt for an online purchase?
You must exchange the receipt for a bracelet at one of the three ticket booths.
6. What time is the event over; when will the street reopen?
The event ends at 10:30pm. THE street will reopen at 11pm.
7. Who is performing and where?
A bracelet is required for the following venues and musicians:
- Greta Matassa and her four piece quartet will be at Bethel Lutheran
- Eric Patterson and his quintet will be at Easy Monkey Taphouse - upstairs
- Stephanie Porter and her group will be at the Easy Monkey Taphouse - downstairs
- Walter M Sierra Latin Jazz Project and his seven piece band will be on the Showmobile
- Susan Pascal quintet will be at the North City Bistro
- Dmitri Matheny group featuring Holly Pyle will be at North City Water District **Adults only**
- Convergence Zone with Doug Reid will be at the North City Lounge **Adults only*
Open to the public for no charge:
- Clave Gringa Cuban Jazz will be at the Dorian Photography site -
- Hook Me Up will be at the Frank Lumber Delivery site
- Lord Shambleton's four piece ensemble with steel drums will be at the Animal Medical Center site (previously Walgreens)
Pick up a brochure at any ticket booth on Tuesday evening
8. Jazz Bites on the street
- Absolute Hot Dogs and Gyros- Gourmet Hot Dogs and Beef, Chicken, Lamb and Vegetarian Gyros
- Here and There Grill food truck- Grilled Turkey sandwich, Spicy Pork Tacos, Vegetarian Black Bean Sliders
- Leena's Cafe- Greek Gyros, Greek Salad, Greek Fries, Chicken Caesar Salad, Shrimp Caesar Salad
- Delicious Delivered- pulled pork slider with slaw, kentucky butter cakes, potato salad
Shoreline and Lake Forest Park Rotarians combine to have a Beer and Wine Garden located at the Frank Delivery site.
