Summer Solstice Soundscapes with Gary Stroutsos June 21
Sunday, June 2, 2019
Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6-8pm at Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Gary Stroutsos performs world flute music drawn from many traditional cultures.
Evoking a spirit of place and the voices of the land, his work includes internationally acclaimed recordings at sacred sites, using the unique acoustics and history of each great space as the starting point for a deep musical exploration.
This results in a shared moment in a timeless place, where the flute melodies – ancestral and modern – play off on one another and songs come alive, buoying and breathing through the generations. Learn more about him and his work
“I cannot imagine trying to come to terms with the history of this complicated country I have chosen to make my life’s work without Gary’s exquisite mastery and understanding of its many varied musical traditions. We don’t leave home without him.” – Ken Burns, Florentine Films
The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation is proud to partner with Gary Stroutsos.
