Dwight Stevens turns 95 Photo by Jerry Pickard |
Thursday Dwight Stevens, WWII B-17 Pilot, celebrated his 95th birthday with members of American Legion Post 227.
Legion members enjoyed a birthday cake and ice cream with Dwight and his wife Helen.
Dwight is an active member of American Legion Post 227 where he serves as Judge Advocate on the Post's Executive Committee.
Dwight is the founder of the Echo Lake Neighborhood Association and served as Chair and Representative to the Council of Neighborhoods for a decade.
He was awarded the first Shoreline Star for service to the City of Shoreline. A Master Composter, he taught workshops in composting for many years. He also led ESL classes.
He was one of the driving forces behind the Veterans' Memorial Park at City Hall and is still taking orders for memorial bricks!
