Tyler Myers' company owns businesses from Alaska to Oregon. His businesses are diverse, including grocers, hardware stores, service stations, and a pub on Camano Island.

Along the way, they've grown to include successful land development, store remodeling, and property management.

Myers lives in north Seattle and frequently drives through Shoreline on Aurora. The lease sign on the Drift On Inn at 167th immediately caught his eye, and within a short period of time he had a lease on the property.

Soon the Drift On Inn will open as an entirely new business - the Aurora Borealis.

The Borealis will be a restaurant and event space, booking musicians and comedians. The exterior of the building will remain the same, but the interior is in the process of extensive renovation and remodeling.

Every square inch of the main floor has been modeled and will be a large restaurant. A kitchen has been added and plans are to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 12 kinds of beer, wine, and cocktails will be on the menu.

Downstairs will be an event space with a stage where the old casino used to be. People will be able to rent it for class reunions or banquets. There will be three spaces which can be used for meetings or smaller private events.

One of the great advantages of the site is access to parking. The Borealis will share the parking lot in back with Hollywood Casino, some 250 spaces.

Myers hopes to open the Borealis within a few months. The address is 16708 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133

Update 4-17-19: No casino! Restaurant and event space.
