February 16-17, 2019 the Shorewood Varsity Bowling teams took part in the 54th Annual WSBPA State Championship at Paradise Lanes in Tacoma. Due to the heavy snow, for the first time in tournament history, there were two events - one in Spokane, and one in Tacoma.

Both head coach Tammy Ceesay and Assistant Coach Ed Wada were excited to be one of the only schools to have two teams in the tournament.

Shorewood 1: Malcolm Jacobson (Captain - 12), Brandon Hozjan (11), Mataio Shulda-Maui (11), Alexa Cominos (11), Caroline Gugger (11) and Sean McCandless (10), took 5th place in Division 1 with 29/50 wins, high game 206.

Shorewood 2: Ray Davis (Captain), Henry Carson Jordan King, Brandon Main (12), and Francisco Barocio (11), took 4th place in Division 2 with 16/40 wins, high game 205 (highest in D2).

"I am really proud of how well the teams did this year, most of them were experiencing this tournament for the first time, and handled the pressure skillfully." Coach Tammy Ceesay.

The team would like to thank Harley O'Neil and the staff at Spin Alley for their support.
