Shoreline Rotary to learn about the water industry on Mar 27

Join Shoreline Rotary on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2019 at the Shoreline Community College HUB, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, 98133.

The meeting starts at 7:00am with breakfast and camaraderie; formal program starts at 7:30am.

We often turn on our faucets without giving it a thought. Water runs out, and we fill our coffee pots, rinse our dishes, or take a drink of that cool, refreshing H2O. But how that water gets to our homes is a multi-dimensional challenge with a long, complex history.

What is now known as the North City Water District, came into existence by vote as Water District 42 on August 1, 1931. Ever since then, the District has been committed to excellent, uninterrupted service to its patrons.

Denny Clouse, Operations Manager for the North City Water District, is one of the people working tirelessly to make sure that commitment remains strong. With over 39 years in the water industry, Denny has a vast education in domestic water supply and four certification levels, and has worked as the Operations Manager for the District for 13 years.

Clouse is the Past Chair of the Pacific Northwest Section of the American Water Works Association (PNWS-AWWA).

He will tell us all about the NC/DC Pump Station and its importance to the water supply in the District’s service area. Come meet Denny Clouse and hear his fascinating perspective on the most vital substance on earth.
