Shoreline resident Rad Cyrus has a marriage by video chat. He and his wife Samira were married in February 2015. He came ahead to start a job at Amazon, while she stayed in Tehran, Iran. In June 2015 she applied for a visa to come join him.
Then Donald Trump was elected president and began his series of Muslim bans.
Unlike the second version of the ban, the third grants no automatic exceptions to family members of people in the U.S. Visa applicants must apply for waivers to the ban.
Yet, there is no actual application form.
Cyrus bought a condo in Shoreline, and moved to a new job at Best Buy. Every evening, he and Samira spend several hours on video chat, until it's time for her to go to work.
Many awaiting visas say they are stuck in perpetual limbo, separated from spouses, children and parents without any information about their cases other than they are in “administrative processing.”
See the ACLU page Timeline of the Muslim Ban
It isn’t a Muslim ban. Iran is a terrorist state so it os on thevlist of countries identified for caution. This guy may not even be Muslim.
