Dog Days of Summer on Railroad Avenue

On Saturday, October 13, 2018 Gallery North in Edmonds announced its 2018 Beauty of the Northwest award winners from 63 paintings by 41 participating artists.

The awards were presented during the Artists’ Reception by Mike Wise, the show’s prize juror who is an accomplished painter best known for his rich landscapes, sculptural use of oils and lush color.

First Place went to Delores Haugland for her painting “Dog Days of Summer on Railroad Avenue.”

Second Place was awarded to Emiliya Lane for her painting “Northwest Mosaic.”

Third Place went to Marcel Schwarb for “Ilwaco, Washington Boatyard.” Marcel also won an Honorable Mention for his painting “Oregon Surf.”

James McFarlane took an Honorable Mention award for his painting “Harbor Kayaking.”

The show prizes were sponsored by Gallery North, Artist and Craftsman, Lynnwood Honda, and Gamblin. Coldwell Banker Bain of Edmonds is a show sponsor.

The Beauty of the Northwest Show will be open at Gallery North until October 30th with another reception for the artists on Thursday, October 18th from 5:00 to 8:00pm during Art Walk Edmonds. 

Visitors are invited to come to meet many of the artists responsible for this exceptional exhibit.
