Early on the morning of April 24, 24 high school guidance counselors and college / career specialists from several local school districts were treated to an annual appreciation breakfast at Shoreline Community College.
The College has been hosting this event for the last several years as a way to continue building strong partnerships with the school districts to support students as they transition from high school to college and beyond.

The session deepens their understanding of what educational and career training options are available at the community college level, as well as at four-year universities.

Shoreline Community College shared information about their academic programs and support services, provided a tour of the campus, and featured a panel of three current students.
The students all came to community college for different reasons and they shared with breakfast attendees how they are moving toward their educational and career goals at Shoreline.
One counselor stated, “Each time I come here, I see more of Shoreline’s commitment to students. The student panel was a special treat today.”
Shoreline Community College plans on continuing the breakfast tradition, as a way to recognize the important role guidance counselors and college / career specialists play in shaping high school students’ next steps.
