Happy Year of the Dog

Chinese New Year, Friday, February 16, 2018 - the Year of the Dog. Chinese New Year is based on the lunar cycle. It occurs between January 21 and February 20.

Celebrations last for two weeks with dragon parades and a lot of fireworks - so much so that the state fire marshal sent out a reminder to check local fire codes.

Locally, Shoreline resident Hua Zhang had an early New Year's parade with her Mandarin class at Meridian Park Elementary School.
