Valentine’s Day Create and Make Workshop: A Card for You, A Card for Me:
Artist Trading Cards with Ana Christensen
Artist Trading Cards
Create and Make Workshop
Wednesday, February 14th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Cromwell Room
Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline
South classroom wing
This class will create artist trading cards while we explore beginning to intermediate collage techniques and design.
Artist trading cards are miniature artworks (2.5 x 3.5 inches) created to trade or give away to others, just in time for the Valentine holiday!
The cards are a fun format to explore new techniques and styles for any medium. We will learn how to use a color wheel to inform image choice, how to use scale creatively, and how to approach cutting or alteration of source materials.
We will review tools students can use at home for collage projects. In the second half of the class, students will use instructor provided source materials and tools to create 2 – 4 artist trading cards to take home or give away. No flowers or box of chocolates needed – just creativity!
Special offer of childcare for children ages 5 and up, this night only! Our Executive Director will keep your little ones engaged with creative art-making while you and your date enjoy the workshop. Call 206-417-4645 for more information!
Ana Christensen is a cut paper artist working out of her home studio in Mountlake Terrace. Her current work builds on quilting, screen printing, and collage technique, using different papers to evoke light, shadow, and texture. Ms. Christensen has shown her work in regional art shows and shops.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, February 14th, and is held from 6:30 – 8:30pm in the Cromwell Room of the Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA.
Tickets are $35 and available at BrownPaperTickets.com.
