Local blood drives Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday

Bloodworks Northwest has reports that they disbursed over 150 pints of blood in the first hours after the train derailment on Monday.

The rail disaster in DuPont has created an extra, urgent local need for blood during a season when supplies are already stretched thin.

They need to replenish their supplies - and local organizations have stepped up to the plate.

Three local blood drives have been set up in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park for those able to donate.

All negative blood types (O-, A-, B-) and Platelets especially needed.

All are welcome and walk-ins are encouraged. Please bring photo ID.
