Apologies in advance to those of you who get really annoyed when I publish a photo without identifying the flower. One person even unsubscribed in protest. (I miss you - come back!)
Lee Lageschulte, as you know, takes beautiful flower photos - but she doesn't know many more flower names than I do. And my wonderful gardeners don't stay up as late as I do.
So it's up to you, green-thumbed readers, to identify this dramatic and beautiful flower!

Crocosmia. BTW, it's really easy to do a google image search if you can't identify a particular plant or flower....
My mom calls this Devils Tongue.
Crocosmia (Lucifer).
Crocosmia
That is a Lucifer Crocus, I think also called Montbretia. They are good looking and hummingbirds and bees like them but you got to watch the runs on these things. They will take over your garden.

Crocosmia is what they are.
Crocosmia - "Lucifer" - hummingbirds love it, and it "naturalizes" which means if you start with 5 in a couple of years you will have 15-20...
