Local residents in SCT production of Ragtime School Edition
Thursday, July 27, 2017
Seattle Children’s Theatre Student Shows presents Ragtime School Edition August 11 – 13, 2017 for ages 13 and up.
This special production stars local drama students in cast and crew roles working alongside professional SCT staff on the Tony Award-winning musical.
Ragtime weaves the stories of a daring young African-American musician, a stifled upper-class wife, and a determined Jewish immigrant at the dawn of the new century.
United by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future, they confront the conflicts between wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, as they discover what it means to live in America.
With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, book by Terrence McNally. Directed by Matt Giles.
$12 tickets are available online or by contacting the SCT Box Office at 206-441-3322.
