Shoreline Communities Rising (CR) group will hear about cultural diversity and inclusion in Shoreline

Shoreline Communities Rising! is a non-partisan neighborhood action group, with a stated mission of “Bringing people together to make a difference.”

The Shoreline Communities Rising (CR) group will meet at the Shoreline Senior Center from 12:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

The Center is at 18560 1st Ave NE, the southernmost building on the Shoreline Center campus.

This month our featured speaker will be Suni Tolton.  Suni has oversight for cultural diversity and inclusion for the City of Shoreline. The goal of this department is to expand the city's capacity to support and engage all members of our community. She works with Rob Beem, Human Services Manager for the City of Shoreline, who gave an overview at last month’s meeting of what is happening here in Shoreline, and the ways and places that we might become involved with our community.

Also, as a tangible part of what we can do for our community, we want to respond to a request from the Shoreline School District for a very specific kind of support:

Lake Forest Park Elementary is collecting body wash and body soaps during the month of May for The Works to help families and students in need within the SSD. We are asking our CR members (via Facebook and email) to bring these products as a donation to our May meeting:

Meeting the needs of our community is and will continue to be seen as an on-going process requiring curiosity, clarity of vision, and follow-through on our best intentions. CR! can now be found on FaceBook at our new and still-evolving page.
