Shoreline Communities Rising group meeting Mar 5

Shoreline Communities Rising group
meeting at Shoreline Center
Recently neighborhood groups began to organize in the Seattle area with the idea that a network of neighborhood-based groups can be created to develop actions that can shape the future in ways that benefit those who live among us and our physical neighborhood.

The Shoreline Communities Rising (CR) group has met twice and will have its next meeting at the Shoreline Senior Center from 12:00 to 2:00pm on March 5th. 18560 1st Ave NE, the southernmost building on the Shoreline Center campus.

Shoreline Communities Rising is well-organized with paired, small group, and large group activities orchestrated in a timely manner.

At this next meeting, about a dozen working groups (that were of interest to those who attended the last meeting) will share information about what they have discovered and explored.

Most of these groups have a point-person and include such interests as “Accessibility to Health Care,” “Disaster Preparedness,” “Needs of the Vulnerable,” “Immigrant Rights,” “Neighborhood Networking,” “Protecting the Shoreline Environment,” “Resource Sharing,” and “Sustainable Living.”

Other working groups can arise from the interests of those who attend the meetings. Based on input from all in attendance, next steps will be determined.

All are welcome. The next large Seattle community meeting will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ballard from 6:30-8:30 on March 6, 2017.
