Shorewood wrestlers open season with a loss to Monroe

Shorewood's grapplers travelled out to Monroe HS to take on the Bearcats to open their 2016--17 season.  Despite some early success the Bearcat's depth and experience were too much for the Thunderbirds.

Senior captain Elias Thorne led the way for the Thunderbirds pinning Monroe's Brock Rice less than a minute into the third round.

Monroe put up 54 points to Shorewood's 34, sending the T-birds home to regroup before they head to Edmonds Woodway on Saturday for the Edmonds Invite. Wrestling starts Saturday morning at 9:00am.
