Yes, hummingbird feeders are an important source, but they need to be maintained properly, and filled with the appropriate solution. The one in the photo shows nectar containing food coloring, which isn't necessary. Feeders need to be kept scrupulously clean, and nectar should be made only with white sugar, not honey or anything else. Yes! I'm glad you mentioned it. Food coloring is very toxic to all creatures big and very small.
