Mr. Scrooge opens Nov 25 at Driftwood Players in Edmonds
Thursday, November 17, 2016
The added dimensions of musical treatment make this a particularly enjoyable new way of presenting this grand story of hardhearted Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas and is visited successively by three ghosts: the ghost of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future.
They bring revelations to Scrooge, mainly about himself, and he's shocked into taking action to care for his employee, Bob Cratchit and his family which includes brave, little, crippled Tiny Tim. The songs are varied and catchy and Driftwood has put its own unique industrial or steampunk flair to the costumes and set design.
Featuring the talents of: Chloe Cook, Sydney Kaser, Stephanie Kroschel, Karsten Lomax, Patrick Lucey-Conklin, Elise McFarland, Laura McFarlane, Jonathan Olson, Griffin Price, Jeff Strom, Kevin Tanner, Margaret West, Randy West, and Amelie Whitesell.
This show is directed by Kylie McKenzie Soder, a graduate of Cornish Institute in Seattle who has served as a directing intern at A Contemporary Theater (ACT) in Seattle. Mr. Scrooge is musically directed by Mark Press and supported by producers Kevin Starkey and Katie Soule with stage management by Daniel Ha.
