Annual Veterans' Day ceremony at Shoreline City Hall Friday

On Friday, November 11,
the Shoreline Veterans Association, with support from the Starr
Sutherland, Jr. American Legion Post 227 and the City of Shoreline, will
hold its annual Veterans Day Celebration honoring all U.S. military
veterans.
The event is open to the public.
The
keynote speaker for this year’s event is Clayton M. Peterson, a veteran
of the Vietnam War and the author of “A Million to One and Lived”, a
miraculous story of survival.
In
1969 [Peterson] was in the Mobile Riverine Force in the Mekong River
Delta, was wounded on his third major firefight, and spent thirteen
months in various military hospitals recovering from his thirty-eight
major wounds; by a ‘Million to One’ chance, he miraculously lived.
He
received two Purple Hearts, a Combat Infantry Badge, an Army

The
Shoreline Veterans Association, the Starr Sutherland, Jr. American
Legion Post 227, and the City of Shoreline would like to recognize the
contributions of the men and women in the military who have served our
country and who have given so much for the cause of peace.
