Obituaries are condensed biographies of people's lives, written by the people who loved them. Like a memorial service, they tell us things we may not have known about the person, and may leave us wishing we had known them better.

LaVon D. Price 1925-2016 Married in 1945 and moved to Shoreline. Active in PTA, winning the Golden Acorn, also involved with the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Beta Sigma Phi. Loved cooking and camping.
Patricia Ann Emory Age 87 Moved to Shoreline in 1959 and raised her family here. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to one of her favorite charities, including the Shoreline Historical Museum.
Bronwen M. Nightingale-Daehnke 1954-2016 Graduated from King's Garden High School in Shoreline.
Norman R. Hansen 1927-2016 Norm grew up in Richmond Beach and served as an Army paratrooper in Occupied Japan in 1946-47. He was a school teacher in the Shoreline School District for 27 years, moved to Lake Forest Park in 1973, and retired 1985. He wrote "Stories of Richmond Beach" and "Stories of a Paratrooper in Occupied Japan" and had his local photo collection and family history at normanrhansen.com. Family suggests remembrances to Shoreline Historical Museum.
Virginia R. (Dyson) Kent 1922-2016 She was a long distance operator when she married and moved to Shoreline around 1944. They were very involved with their children's activities. She was a member of a Children's Orthopedic Guild, Emblem Club, and Tin Crafters Club. She loved making crafts and was a huge Seattle Mariners fan.
Helen Marie Oltman 1926-2016 She was raised in Richmond Beach. She met her husband at Lincoln High School and they built a home in Richmond Beach, and later a second home in Shoreline. She worked for the Shoreline School District for many years. She dedicated countless hours creating exhibits for the Shoreline Historical Museum. In 2004, with her granddaughter, LisaMarie Brems, she created and dedicated an informational sign overlooking the bluff of her beloved Richmond Beach. The family suggests remembrances to the Shoreline Historical Museum.
Lorraine Slingsby Atwood 1918-2016 She was very involved with the 46th District Democratic party and attended the 1972 Democratic convention. An avid skier, she volunteered and worked for ski organizations. She worked ski races and organized ski trips. She was a member of the Ancient Skiers Club and a member of the Sahalie Ski Club for 59 years. A celebration of life was held at the Shoreline Elks.
Jean Gleason Witt 1921-2016 A botanist, Jean lived in Shoreline for 50 years, raising her family here. She was a member of many garden clubs and sought after as a speaker. She had a passion for iris and was a "backyard hybridizer" who won many awards. She was an artist, writer, and quiltmaker.
Joanne F. Albrecht 1931-2016 Joanne retired from the Shoreline School District. She and her husband had four children. After retirement they spent time at their vacation properties in Lake Cavanaugh and Desert Hot Springs. A celebration of life was held at Acacia in Lake Forest Park.
Maria J. Shaffer 1935-2016 Born in Poland, raised in the UK, came to the US in 1964 and worked as a physical therapist. Raised her daughter in Lake Forest Park. She loved music and dance and treasured her Polish heritage. Services at St. Marks in Shoreline.
