It took almost 20 years, but we finally got our covered bus shelter!

20 years ago, the Board of Directors of the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association asked Metro to install a bus shelter for neighborhood riders at a bus stop on 5th Ave NE, just south of NE 165th.

We were told then that there were not enough riders to justify the expense of a shelter.

Years later, when Metro documented that ridership was above the threshold for bus shelters, we were told that new shelters were no longer part of the budget.

We kept trying over the years. And last week - a new shelter was installed.

Thanks Metro!
