Power outage map 3:30pm |
Did your lights flicker? Mine did.
As I have come to understand, that was because many of my neighbors just lost their power.
Most of the North City business district is out - hopefully running on emergency generators. Over 100 customers around the Ballinger - Lake Forest Park boundary on both sides of Ballinger Way.
Another 100 plus east of the freeway between 180th and 185th. The biggest group between 15th and Perkins north of 185th. There's a small group by Horizon View and a couple of singles south of 175th.
I suspect that not all areas have reported in.
Seattle City has not listed a cause. The only area which has a projected restoration time is North City - 10pm.
Will update as information comes in.
Stay cool, everyone.

Streetlights north of 175th on 15th Ave NE are dark. Instead of treating the intersection as a 4-way stop people are just blowing through it as if they had a green light. It seems just a matter of time until people coming from two different directions do this at the same time.
Our neighbors all had things damaged or destroyed. We lost our clothing Dryer and Refrigerator another had his computer catch fire! Is City Light gonna pay?
A whole house surge protector installed by a licensed electrical contractor is far cheaper than multiple appliances getting damaged. Considering the multitude of outages we suffer in the region, it's odd more folks don't have them.
