Stuff the Bus with diapers

Staff from local nonprofit WestSide Baby will be dropping by the Shoreline Les Schwab store on Friday, July 15, with their specially decorated bus in order to thank staff and customers for their participation in the Stuff the Bus diaper drive.

Through July 2016, the Shoreline Les Schwab Tire Centers store is partnering with WestSide Baby to host Seattle’s largest diaper drive. Residents are urged to buy a pack of diapers and drop it off at the North City store at 17754 15th Ave NE, Shoreline 98155 to benefit local babies in need.

The 16th Annual Stuff the Bus Diaper Drive aims to gather more than 300,000 diapers. Members of the public can support the cause by donating packs of diapers as part of drives across the city.

WestSide Baby’s Executive Director Nancy Woodland said, “We are delighted that Les Schwab is once again lending its dollars and resources to help kids in our community. There are more than 10,000 children under the age of 3 living in poverty in King County.
"These children will need 22 million diapers every year. Unfortunately, many families are forced to choose between buying diapers and paying bills, as diapers are not covered by any government aid programs, including food stamps.”

“When our communities succeed, it’s good for all of us,” said Jerry, Manager, at Les Schwab.

“Thanks to our customers’ generosity and our partnership with WestSide Baby, we’re helping our youngest neighbors stay healthy and happy. Les Schwab is proud to support such a great cause that helps all children get off to a good start in life.”

WestSide Baby, in partnership with the community, provides essential items to local children in need by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing and equipment.

Les Schwab Tire Centers is one of the leading independent tire dealers in the United States, with more than 7,000 employees and more than 460 locations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
