City Council Proclamation of NW SolarFest Day

The Shoreline City Council has proclaimed July 23, 2016 as NW SolarFest Day.

For 13 years, this annual event has supported the City’s Sustainability Strategy that recognizes the value and practical application of alternative energy sources.

One example is Shoreline City Hall, a LEED Gold building that demonstrates many green features such as solar electric, solar hot water heating, solar trash and recycling containers and electric vehicle charging and many more features that can be seen here.

NW SolarFest offers our community and the region, tools, materials and resources to incorporate sustainable practices in daily living.

The Fair is July 23rd at Shoreline Community College. The weather looks fantastic and it will be a great day to be outside.

Remember that the second Solarize Shoreline workshop takes place at the Fair at 10:30. Pre-registration is requested.

Work up your appetite visiting over 70 exhibits and talk with experts on sustainable products, services and nonprofit work. Meet with your neighbors at the Conversation Café. Grab some lunch from the food trucks and sit and enjoy the low carbon, high joy entertainment on the stages and join the laughter of the Trash Fashion Show with dogs as models scheduled for 2pm.

The KIDZone will feature Home Depot’s make and take activity, the Insect Safari, and live voltage demonstrations from Puget Sound Energy.

Stop by the information booth for your Fair Guide, grab your Sponsor Passport, visit the sponsors and enter to win prizes. Visit the Solar Store for solar goodies and buy a raffle ticket to support NW SolarFest and a chance to win a Propella electric bike!
