Construction will begin soon for two businesses who will be setting up shop in the middle of Aurora Village, in what is now open parking.

Wilcox Construction already has their construction fences and trailer in place and will soon start construction on a Habit Burger restaurant and a Starbucks Drive-Thru.

The existing Starbucks will move to the new site.

Habit Burger is a chain founded in Santa Barbara, California in 1969. They currently have 110 units located in California (97), Arizona (6), Utah (6) and New Jersey (1).

This will be their first Washington restaurant. They feature fast casual dining specializing in burgers, sandwiches, salads, sides, shakes and more, with a distinctive menu built around made-to-order burgers char-grilled over an open flame.

  1. Seriously? They want to set up shop in the already crowded Aurora Village?

Why not do this at the Westminster Triangle. That's a place that REALLY needs redevelopment and food choices.

  3. Really? One drive-thru Starbucks on the west side of Aurora and another drive through right across the street? So much for a "walkable, livable, vibrant" Shoreline. Surely the fact that there's a transit center mere feet away should disallow a "drive-though" as it only encourages people to stay in their cars. Yet, the 185th subarea is primed and groomed without consent for the same sort of haphazard allowances of old-fashioned, out of date, strip-mall, corporate nonsense. Coming soon to your light rail subareas... franchise burger joints, corporate coffee chains, dry cleaners, and maybe... a panda express?

  5. Yowza! I already feel like I'm taking my life in my hands if I park in one spot and walk to Costco, Home Depot and Petco or Big 5 on one trip. Will there be some kind of accomodation in the parking lot for pedestrians??
