That's not Indian Paintbrush. Real paintbrush grows in more arid areas and higher elevation that you will find in Shoreline, in the mountains and eastern Washington. It's much shorter than this and is red.
That's a Red Hot Poker.
This plant is a kniphofia, aka red hot poker, poker plant, torch lily; an Indian paintbrush is a castilleja.
Are you sure that is Indian Paint Brush? I'm not.........
Those are not Indian Paintbrush but rather a plant called Kniphofia.
