Photos: Roozen Gaarde

What's not to love about fields of tulips? Wayne Pridemore took a day trip to the Skagit Valley and sent in these beautiful photos.

The Roozen Gaarde, located just outside Mount Vernon, is one of the most popular stops to view the tulips - in full bloom right now. The family owned operation farms nearly 1000 acres.

I just found out that the Dutch families who came over to farm their flowers here are also responsible for the daffodils, and indirectly the bevies of daffodil princesses.

And when people order Dutch tulip bulbs, they are getting bulbs grown in the Skagit Valley.
