Ok - not sure what to make of this one. At first I thought forsythia but I don't think their flowers hang in lines like this. Honeysuckle is yellow - do they grow here? Or is there such a thing as a yellow wisteria? I've only ever seen purple.
UPDATE: Consensus is that this is a Golden Chain (laburnum).

And here's another one, in white. Are these both wisteria? The white one looks like a tree instead of a vine.
UPDATE: An expert says this is a wisteria, possibly engulfing and killing a tree. See the comment below the story.

My poor mother tried so hard to teach me about flowers. Sorry, Mom, none of it stuck.
Experts, weigh in please.

The yellow is Golden Chain Tree, in bloom all over the city right now. The white is a white form of Wisteria (yes, those exist). Sky Nursery has a very nice one on display in their parking lot edge gardens. It's difficult to tell from photo alone, but it's possible that the Wisteria looks more like a tree than a vine because it has fully engulfed a tree (I think I see some dead branches poking out on top?). Wisteria can, sadly, also kill the tree it takes over...similar to English Ivy.
I think last year you called the yellow one wisteria and someone corrected you :) Whatever you call them, this spring has been fabulous for a lot of the bloomers!
