Last Saturday, I was riding my bicycle along 175th street when a neighbor pointed out a bald eagle up on the power pole. The eagle was there for quite a while, eating what looked to be a squirrel.

I had enough time to go home, get my camera and my wife and go back to look at this marvelous bird.

This eagle was at the intersection of 175th Street and 22nd Ave.

Enjoy it while it lasts. When City Hall approves permits for a sea of apartment buildings and our tree canopy gets demolished, the eagles and other natural life will be displaced.

I often see a Bald Eagle flying near Shoreline Park off 1st Ave. Enjoy them now while you can. Once the area is redeveloped there won't be enough habitats to support them.

Sad but true. The tree canopy in Shoreline is already diminishing year by year. Big trees support a viable wildlife community
