City of Shoreline names 160th Street “College Way”

In honor of Shoreline Community College’s importance to the City of Shoreline, City Manager Debbie Tarry, with support of the mayor and city council, and in collaboration with SCC’s board of trustees, has named 160th St “College Way”.

Large, lighted signs have been installed at the intersection of 160th and Aurora. Along 160th, the smaller street signs on each corner now have ‘College Way” installed above the 160th street sign.

Dr. Cheryl Roberts, President of Shoreline Community College, stated “I am delighted to see the signs go up in honor of our college. 

"We are truly ‘of’ the community not just ‘in’ the community. This has been over a year and a half in the making. I am thrilled Shoreline is recognized as a college town and that 160th street is now distinguished as ‘College Way’. 

"The signs will greatly improve wayfinding for all who want to visit our beautiful campus and experience the outstanding teaching and learning that happens for our students and the communities we serve. This is perfect timing prior to the Seattle International Film festival coming in late May”.

Dr. Roberts also thanked the City of Shoreline for their continued support and collaboration. “We look forward to continuing the good work with the City of Shoreline on making improvements and enhancements to the areas surrounding our campus”.
