46th District Democrats
Lake Forest Park Democrats elected as delegates and alternates at the April 26th Precinct Caucuses will join their colleagues from Kenmore and North Seattle at the 46th Legislative District Caucus on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Shorecrest High School, 15343 25th Ave NE, Shoreline. Registration begins at 11:30am and the meeting will be called to order at 1pm.
The purpose of the Caucus is to elect delegates to attend the Congressional District Caucuses and the State Party Convention and to adopt a platform for the 46th District Democrats.
During the LD Caucus, the assembled delegates and alternates will split into sub-caucuses for the two candidates for presidential nominee, Senator Sanders and Secretary Clinton. Each sub-caucus will elect delegates to the Congressional District Caucus and the State Convention.
If Delegates fail to register, Alternates from their precinct who have the same presidential preference will be seated in their stead. Alternates will also have the opportunity to fill in for other precincts where both the Delegate and Alternate are absent.
Members of the 46th District Democrats who are not delegates or alternates are encouraged to attend. They cannot vote during the delegate selection process, but are eligible to vote during the adoption of the platform.
The meeting will likely take a few hours as we work through the election of delegates and adopt a platform. Light snacks and drinks will be available, however we encourage attendees to bring their own food.
