Results of the Lake Forest Park Area Caucus

More than 1,000 Democrats attended the area caucus at Lake Forest Park Elementary on Saturday morning.

Democrats caucused in 20 precincts in the gym/cafeteria complex. This large turnout made for a crowded but wonderfully patient and positive group. Some precincts chose to go outside to caucus and enjoy the beautiful weather and cherry blossoms.

Results are still being officially authorized by the Washington State Democratic Party but here is the tally at this time for the precincts in Lake Forest Park:

• Delegates awarded to Bernie Sanders: 54 – 61%
• Delegates awarded to Hillary Clinton: 38 – 39%

Precinct LFP 46-0655 holds the record for turnout at 92 voters, with precinct LFP 46-0309 close behind with 82. Most precincts had between 50 and 60 voters participating.

Support for the two nominees varied by precinct, with some evenly split and others awarding 80% of their votes to Senator Sanders. Secretary Clinton had her strongest support in Precinct LFP 46-1056 and LFP 46-1075 (Sheridan Heights and Sheridan Beach) winning 5 of the available 8 delegates.

Senator Sanders enjoyed his strongest support in the northeast corner of the city, Precinct LFP 46-0400, winning 4 of the 5 available delegates and won the majority of delegates in many other precincts.
