The Word, Ceilidh (kay-lee), is derived from a Gaelic word
meaning “visit” or “house party.” Both, the Irish and the Scottish, had social
gatherings to celebrate their folk music which included singing, instrumental
pieces, dancing and even a story or two.
Our choirs are collaborating with Randal Bays, a nationally
renowned Irish fiddle player and guitarist,
for a Highland Ceilidh that is sure
to “raise the roof.”
