Shorewood tennis advances to District 1 Tournament

Shorewood’s Gunnar Thorstenson, Kyle Berquist and Hugh Gaevert qualified for the District 1 tennis tournament at Jackson High School on Monday and Tuesday October 26 and 27.

Thorstenson placed second in singles, losing a close 5-7, 5-7 match to his Mountlake Terrace opponent.

Berquist and Gaevert placed fourth by defeating a Glacier Peak team 7-6, 7-6.

The top three placers at the district tournament qualify for next Spring’s WIAA state tennis tournament held at Kamiakin High School and the Tri-City Court Club.

All matches start at 1pm at Jackson High School courts on Monday.
