Shorewood’s boys tennis team lost the first set of the first six matches to start their match versus cross-town rival Shorecrest.

The T-Birds started their comeback with Hugh Gaevert winning his first set and won his singles match to give Shorewood their first team point.

The Shorecrest Scots came out with very strong, aggressive play to get an early advantage. It was up to the Shorewood doubles teams to come back from first set losses to win their second sets and stay alive for the third set.

Winning in the T-Birds doubles sweep were Peter Smith / Joseph Jang, Simon Forinash / Andrew Counter and Cameron Harford / Jack Stensrud.

The team win improved the Shorewood record to 10-1 in WesCo South 3A and 13-1 overall. The Thunderbirds are in first place with one match left on their schedule. They travel to Mountlake Terrace Wednesday 10 / 14 and match starts at 3:30pm.
