Hutchinson’s expressionistic landscape and seascape paintings explore
the dynamics of gesture, color and form. They reference nature and
sometimes, specific locations. The varying degrees
of abstraction in Hutchinson’s work reference his influences, such as
Hiroshige, Howard Hogkins, Richard Diebenkorn, Emil Nolde and Wolf Kahn.
