Havana Hop! |
On Saturday, October 17 at 11:00am, ECA kicks off their annual Family Series with an all-ages performance and dance celebration called Havana Hop!
In Havana Hop!, the audience meets a young hip-hop dancer named Yelia, who travels to Havana, Cuba to visit her grandmother and add a salsa flavor to her own hip-hop style.
Dance along in this dynamic participation play – and journey with Yelia as she discovers the fun of her multicultural heritage!
Havana Hop! is presented as part of ECA’s 3-day artist residency with Paige Hernandez.
Following her Family Series performance, Ms. Hernandez will lead a Family Dance Party in the ECA gymnasium, teaching participants a simple hip-hop dance routine and partnering basics for salsa.
The routines are integrated with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and are suitable for all ages.
Regular-priced Family Series tickets are $10 per person or $32 for a subscription, with complimentary tickets available for babes-in-arms 18 months or younger. Purchase tickets here, visit or call the ECA Box Office at 425-275-9595.
New this season, ECA invites families qualifying for Washington State’s Free and Reduced-Price Meal programs and/or DSHS benefits to purchase $2 Arts for Everyone tickets to performances in the Family Series. For more information about the Arts for Everyone Membership Program and to apply, contact Gillian Jones, Education and Outreach Manager, at gillian@ec4arts.org or 425-275-9483.
