Western Washington Female Hockey Association (WWFHA) of Shoreline proudly announces that USA Hockey has designated WWFHA and Highland Ice Arena as a host organization and site for the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Girls’ Hockey Weekend, October 9 – 11, 2015 featuring Lyndsey Fry, 2014 US Women’s Ice Hockey Olympian.

WWFHA is located in Shoreline and is the only all-girl hockey association in the Pacific Northwest and offers teams and programs for girls of all ages.

WWFHA will celebrate IIHF World Girls’ Hockey Weekend through several age-specific clinics at Highland Ice Arena with Lyndsey Fry, 2014 US Women’s Ice Hockey Olympian, Harvard alumna and newly appointed WWFHA Honorary Board Member. Lyndsey will be presenting to the players, signing autographs, and running clinics all weekend.

The WWFHA-hosted Lyndsey Fry Clinics will provide age-specific clinics to female hockey players where they can develop skills, build awareness, celebrate current players, and grow participation for girls’ hockey.

The entire world will celebrate girls' hockey during the IIHF’s 2015 World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend. The three-day event is designed to honor the massive strides that have been taken in both participation and player development for girls' hockey, while providing new families an opportunity to get involved.

The 2015 World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend marks the fifth year of the event, which plays a key role in keeping girls’ hockey on track as one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Last year, there were more than 340 events spanning 32 countries. Many of those events took place close to home as the United States held more events (147) than any other country.

WWFHA will also be announcing the only all-girl ice hockey beginner program in the Northwest in cooperation with Highland Ice Arena; featuring 'Learn to Skate' and 'Learn to Play Hockey' sessions!

The Shoreline community is welcome to come out and watch. Email for more information email  or visit the webpage.
