Hearing Northshore Fire Department
King County Fire
Protection District No.16
TO: All residents and owners of personal property and
improvements to real property located within the geographical boundaries of
King County Fire Protection District No. 16 (City of Lake Forest Park, and the
City of Kenmore);
NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of
King County Fire Protection District No. 16 will hold a public hearing at the
date, time and place specified below to:
- Review
the proposed 2016 budget and revenue sources including revenue from
property taxes and possible increases in property tax revenues, if any, as
required by RCW 84.55.120; and
- Review
and establish the Fire District’s benefit charges to be imposed in Year 2016
for the support of its legally authorized activities, which will maintain
or improve the services afforded in the District, as provided in RCW
52.18.060.

Thank you, Northshore and Shoreline Area News, for giving the public ample notice of this public hearing. By contrast, the notification for the Shoreline Fire Department's public hearing on its Fire Benefit Charge and bond election measures (which passed easily last month) was not nearly as good. Though official notice of the July 9 hearing was posted May 20 by the Department, It was not published in the Shoreline Area News until June 29. No one from the public was present at that hearing.
