Photo: Explain this

Car on NE 188th

Daniel Barrett of Lake Forest Park took this photo, but he has no explanation for it -- and neither do we! The branch is inside the car window, but the window is unbroken. The car doesn't have apparent damage - at least on the outside.

File it under strange storm stories.

  1. The window appears to be cracked, and there is enough of a gab that it bowed the window out when it went it. It's tempered glass and will flex a little bit with the right about of force/pressure/etc. After working with glass for a while you learn it's limits. This owner however got lucky that it bowed the window and not crack or shatter it. If there is any damage to the car it's the frame of the door. I would suggest if it hasn't been done already, have someone hold the branch while the other enters from the passenger and put the window down to release the pressure and in hope to save the window from further damage.
