Patients and communities served by International Community Health Services (ICHS) Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic are the winners, after the clinic received a $3.5 million allocation from the 2015 capital construction budget approved by Gov. Jay Inslee and the Legislature.
On Tuesday, June 30, Gov. Inslee signed a capital construction budget that supports capital spending for a number of community projects, including Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic.
"We are very grateful to Gov. Jay Inslee and members of the Washington state legislature for passing a capital construction budget that prioritizes Washington residents' health, including funding for the Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic," said Ron Chew, executive director of ICHS Foundation.
The foundation has worked with state lawmakers and leaders for the last three years to receive state support for the construction of the clinic.
"This funding supports the new Shoreline Medical and Dental clinic, ensuring that residents of Shoreline and other fast-growing communities around it will always have access to top quality, affordable, and culturally appropriate health care services. The demand for medical and dental services at this clinic is outpacing our forecasts," ICHS CEO Teresita Batayola said.
Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic opened in September 2014, bringing much needed, high-quality and affordable healthcare to residents in Shoreline and other fast-growing and highly diverse communities straddling King and Snohomish counties.
Located at 16549 Aurora Avenue North, the Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic is on a one-acre property encompassing 37,000 square feet, and has 20 medical exam rooms, 10 dental chairs, and 47 parking spaces for patients.
