New voters can register for primary election through Monday

By Evan Smith

New Washington voters can register through Monday, July 27, to vote in the Aug. 4 primary election, but they must register in person at either the King County elections office in Renton or the county voter registration annex in the county administration building in downtown Seattle.

The deadline for registration by mail or online, or for previously registered Washington voters to file a change of address, was July 6.

The county elections office is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The registration annex is open from 8:30am to 1pm and 2-4:30pm.

Voters who register in person can either get ballots by mail or vote on accessible machines at the elections office if they choose to wait for their registration to be validated through the state voter registration database, a wait that requires a few minutes.

King County Elections office, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057, 206-296-1565.
